It's that time of year again to stay out late, enjoy the night time cool-off and watch things blow up mid-air!
Sacramento has several different events with fireworks, and here is a quick sampling of my favorite options.
- Fourth on the Field @ Raley Field - Probably the most popular of the spots in Sacramento. The River Cats are out of town, which means the field is opened up to a festival. 20+ Food Trucks will be lined up outside as well. Tickets are $5-15, and parking is $10. (If you want to catch a game as well, the July 3rd game will have fireworks afterwards)
- Old Sacramento River Cruise - If being in a large crowd at Raley Field isn't your thing, how about seeing the show from the Hornblower Cruise Boat? The cruise departs from the L St dock and is an hour long with background music and food/drinks to purchase on board. Standard tickets are about $40.
- Rancho Cordova 4th of July Celebration - Getting out of Downtown? This 2-day festival has a carnival, concerts, 5k run/walk and culminates in a fireworks spectacular. Tickets are only $2 and parking is $5.
- El Dorado County Family Blast - Farther up Highway 50 (and a little farther from the heat of the valley) is the El Dorado County Family Blast. Bring your BBQ and Coolers and set up on the fairgrounds for the largest picnic you'll probably see. Pricing varies.
